Law Graduate Assessment Test (LAW-GAT) Overview
Law Graduate Assessment Test (GAT) is a law graduation test for eligibility to seek enrollment as an advocate in the Bar Council for law graduates in Pakistan.
The test is administered by the Education Testing Council (ETC). The Law GAT test is administered by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Important Update: GAT Classes Registration Extended!
Due to popular demand, we have extended the deadline to register for LAT classes at MCL to September 7, 2024.
Classes will still begin on September 2, 2024. If you join late, our faculty will provide support to help you catch up with the material.
Law Graduate Assessment Test (LAW-GAT) Overview
The Law Graduate Assessment Test (GAT) is a prerequisite for applying to the Bar Council.
In accordance with the Pakistan Legal Practitioners & Bar Councils Rules, 1976, law graduates who wish to enroll as Advocates and practice law must pass the Law GAT.
There are 100 questions on the LAW-GAT. The test only contains multiple-choice questions.
Who Can Apply for Law-GAT?
To be eligible for the LAW-GAT, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Have completed the LL.B. (final year) examination from a university recognized by the Pakistan Bar Council.
- Possess a minimum of 17 years of education.
- Passing the GAT requires a minimum mark of 50.
